A time in the past, I wrote a lengthy comparison of the Edirol R-09 WAVE/MP3 Recorder, Black and the Zoom H4 practical Recorder + 2GB Accessory Kit (pre-accessory kit). I on loan a Zoom H4 from a colleague and found it tremendously frustrating to service. The owners handbook was precisely gibberish to me. I possibly will not turn into heads or tails of the advice. It was a thoroughly frustrating experience and I was standing by to break up on making a disc, and standing by to set out back to making old fashioned videotape tape recordings.

I took a opening on the Zoom H2 and am not remorseful. All the head aches of the H4 allow been addressed with the H2. This mechanism is much easier to service. I'm using it to disc live sequence composition and it does a wonderful job. Sounds notable! I'm not an egg head bore or a supercomputer expert nor am I a proficient sound recording engineer, and I am very comfortable using this mechanism.

Zoom duty allow listened to everything frequent were complaining almost the H4 whilst they designed the H2.

I've had my H2 since September, and used it in a variety of proficient broadcast situations, with diverse achievement. The recorder worked well whilst recording from a line level or mult box feed by the side of mic level. I loved flipping not worth it the certificate and putting it into my laptop's SD slot to progress the library in quickly in support of edits.

Hoever, prearranged so as to the recorder's construction precludes using it handheld (too much clatter transmitted from handling) it is a definite unhelpful so as to a standard broadcast deal with mic like an EV 635A does not present an adequate amount of signify to overcome the poor mic preamp built in.
