A time in the past, I wrote a lengthy comparison of the Edirol R-09 WAVE/MP3 Recorder, Black and the Zoom H4 clever Recorder + 2GB Accessory Kit (pre-accessory kit). I wanted a summit quality, painless to work recorder, so even though the H4 had all of the facial appearance of the Edirol and sold used for considerably not as much of, I reserved the Edirol as it was so much easier to work.

Zoom has responded with the H2, a scaled down version of the H4 with all of the facial appearance of the R-09 and all of the controls birthright anywhere you need them. I on loan a Zoom H4 from a comrade and found it really frustrating to work. The owners labor-intensive was now gibberish to me. I possibly will not tell somebody to heads or tails of the advice. It was a utterly frustrating experience and I was eager to present up on making a compact disk, and eager to move out back to making old fashioned videotape tape recordings.

I took a luck on the Zoom H2 and am not sad. All the head aches of the H4 contain been addressed with the H2. This android is much easier to work. I'm using it to album live succession tune and it does a wonderful job. Sounds huge! I'm not an egg head bore or a workstation expert nor am I a authority sound recording engineer, and I am very comfortable using this android.

I've had my H2 since September, and used it in a variety of authority broadcast situations, with varied triumph. The recorder worked well once recording from a line level or mult box feed by mic level. I loved flipping given away the certificate and putting it into my laptop's SD slot to prevail on the collection in quickly used for edits.

Hoever, known so as to the recorder's construction precludes using it handheld (too much blare transmitted from handling) it is a definite downbeat so as to a standard broadcast playing field mic like an EV 635A does not convey sufficient indicate to overcome the poor mic preamp built in.
